Before the mountains were brought forth...

Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.

Psalm 90:2

While I may have not been present for these events that happened, God was. In fact, as we are reminded in this Psalm, God was present from the foundation of the world. Before the mountains and valleys were formed, He was. He was, is, and forever will be. Just like those physical mountains and valleys, God was present before the mountains and valleys of your life also. He knew exactly where the mountain would be, and exactly where the valley would lead.

Nothing that has come into your life has caught God by surprise. He knew it all before, preparing you to face each and every thing that you would face. It can be challenging to see this as we struggle in what sometimes seems to be the out-of-control chaos of this world.

Through it all, don’t doubt that God has things under control. As the psalmist says, from the beginning and until the end, He is God!
